I have never seen any posted restrictions on type of gear you may carry on those lakes, only on the propulsion type allowed to be used. I have gone on electric only lakes with a motor on my boat, as long as I don't use it, there isn't a problem. I don't know why a lantern would be an issue? I know a few 'electric only' lakes that are fished routinely by fellows after crappie who hang coleman lanterns by poles off of either side of boat without it being an issue.

Most lakes with special regulations have them posted somewhere near the launch ramps, check the posting board of your intended lake to double check...
In case I am wrong and missed a regulation... can you specify what type of lantern you mean?

Some reservoirs don't allow any type of gas motor attached to the boat even if empty as well as a gas lantern. Like said read your signs before launching as it will tell you the rules.
