Headin to oak orchard and Olcott for the first time ever this weekend.  Im a novice steelheader in erie and i use a cabelas traditional 9ft 8wt rod up there with csr 3 reel will this be good up there? what kind of leader is good up there? what flies should i tie on?

Why walk on water when we've got boats?

Rod and reel that will handle chrome should do fine for tired Salmon.

Leader is subject of much debate but 8-10 lb tippet, lighter flouro if water is low and clear (HA!!!!)

Fly selection is half the fun.  Why spoil your discoveries with my tired advice?
Bright and shiny, soft and fluffy, flouescent and eggy, dark and buggy, big or small, they all work sometimes!

Or go see Ron at Orleans Outdoors and drop a few bucks, he'll give you the straight info, you wouldn't want us comin' to your home town and not leaving something in the local economy!

Fished burt dam and a local creek fri, and sat,  fri, on the creek we slayed them fish everywhere had at one time by myself could not believe it 30 in one hole all kings that i can see.  Several hookups a few landed biggest was 22lbs big hen.  Fished burt and the fish are there now stacked big browns and kings got 1 brown about 6lbs was inpress on how wide those  browns are. also landed a few kings with several hookups either break off or they would spit the hook.  Watched a red headed kid snag fish all day i bet he hooked 30 fish all in the tail or side he then carried 3 to the bank and disapered.  Snagger were out in full force saturday wheres the fish cops at when this is going on????.  Nice weekend to go up.  And to the guy that backed into my truck breaking my taillight and leaving the scene thanx alot.
