cribs?
Pardon my ignorance, I know where the "cribs" are. (east of the channel) But what are they? Are they old intakes from a power plant? An old pier? Just wanting to know.

Come on somebody !! I am curious also. And watch out for the huge concrete pipe barely submerged right before you get there. That thing would put a hurtin on ya !

To my knowledge they are the sonco tanks they used to pump fuel off them to the shore. They haven't been used in probably 40 to 50 years. Their is a wrecked ship right near there i believe it's marked with a buoy but the boiler part of the ship isn't.

D-MAC is right on so now you all know. That buoy is marking where the Prop is from the wreck. It sticks straight up from the bottom. Most of it is visible if you get close to it. Kinda neat. and the boiler is very visible too but not marked with a buoy.

Can you narrow me in closer to the wreck? I fish there often, and have never see it. Or a buoy that I can recall. East or west of the cribs? How deep? Or gps coords if you got them.? Sounds like a neat place to play around with the Aqua-Vu. Steve.

For the life of me I can't recall seeing a buoy out there. I'll definately be looking for it next time though. Thanks.

Or gps coords if you got them 42°10.294'N, 80°00.867'W More hazards there than just at the buoy location.

Thanks. I went through there on saturday, to the small beach with the ladders climbing up the cliff to let my dog stretch out for a little while. Never noticed anything. I'll make a point to find it next time, I want to record some video.

Here's a sidescan I took this spring near the cribs when I was playing with the new graph. I was turning so the image isn't really accurate, but some interesting stuff on the lake bottom...

I have been itching to get one since Humminbird came out with them. Hopefully next year when some new technology comes out, I'll pick up a side scan at a decent price. They are sweet units, no doubt about it.

Well you can tell that it is a long, defined piece of structure compared to anything else you would be seeing on the bottom of lake erie...
