patterned today

shot some federal 3 and 1/2s today , touched paper from thirty out to fifty with a new choke. its all nice but saturday i get the feeling its either gonna be a really long shot in a field or a real close one in the woods. but if i hear one gobble all morning that beats any day sitting at home

Just a suggestion, I always shoot at least one pattern real close for just such an occurrence...just to be sure you know where you're at...the pattern's not much bigger than the end of the barrel @ 5-8 yds....aim small, miss small.
I aim just below the feather line on the neck, not at the head, when they're real close. (but don't hit the beard!!)lol

yea thats where i was always taught to aim was right were the neck meets the body, only problem with that even though every shot i took hit the head , the larger parts of my patterns seemed to be right , id like to think those heavy winds had something to do with it cuz it was just on the edge of a 300yd field with no shelter
