PA Grand Slam!(again)

Had a fishing trip of a life time today. Hopefully Slickfish will post the picture. Fished a State Park in Clearfield Co. Caught 30 trout. Not a bad numbers day, BUT completed the PA Grand Slam in one place. Caught a 17 inch Brown, a palamino, brook, and rainbow(all in the pic). Also threw back a 21 inch rainbow. My buddy caught 3. Not that many guys out. I completed a Grand Slam last year but it took me 2 weeks and 3 State Parks.

I have completed the grand slam three times and it is a rush, with a lot of luck added in. About 7 years ago a friend and I were fishing a stream outside of Tyrone, and I had caught a bow, a brown and a brook trout. My buddy had said I just needed a pali for the slam. I had no sooner replied with: "You ever see any palis in THIS creek?" when my drift by a sunken log resulted in a white flash and "fish on". I don't think I've been that nervous about a fish for years. Got it to the net and released. Grand slam, one day and in about 200 yards of water. But it was heavily stocked. But now that we have the tiger doesn't that expand the "grand slam"?

Congrats on the grand slam. Me and the boy have done that quite a few times. Neat when ya get 'em all in one place on the same day.

One time, I did a five pack. Brook, brown, rainbow, pally, and tiger. The pally and tiger came on consecutive casts.

I guess in the age we live in, when you catch all four, then the tiger==it's super-sizing the grand slam!

Guys, I don't count the Tiger because I have not seen one in almost 5 years. If its not in the water I can't possibly catch it. Slick did not fish with me(not yet!). He only posts the pictures for me(I don't know how to) for the many non believers on these boards.

    Jack ,
I was told ( by a PFBC employee ) LAST YEAR was the final year for tiger trout in PA due to them being more difficult to propogate than our browns , brooks , rainbows so I think we are done with em > Last year I caught a few . Anybody this year ? Nice Catch !

Heck, DC I've been "doctoring" since November of last year.  Oil Creek will probably be my 1st outing all year.  But the "skeeter" may come to Oil Creek with me so that's a plus.

DC I may have more than Skeeter. Some of his friends in the Boy Scouts (2) may come along and attempt to get their Fishing Merit Badge. They have to: Catch > release (documented with photos), then catch > keep > clean > cook > eat their catch. Then show a knowledge of knots and catch at least 4 differen types of fish. Bow, brown, chub, sucker. ect. I may have my hands full. Skeets already has Fly fishing, and all he needs for Fishing is C&R, and catch and eat. But with a regular rod so he's bringing his noodle (and flies) to Oil Creek.
