I saw some Big Suckers when on Vac.. I wanted to catch one in the worst way to add to my reports, but no dice. I guess I've lost the touch.

Every winter/spring I take my grandfather out on Penns Creek for suckers. He loves the roe.  The last time we were out we came back with a pile of roe. And he ruined it while cooking. Seems he got the powdered sugar and flour mixed up haha

I've done the Penns and the paradise, the Big fishing and White deer. Black Log, Kish, Standing stone, Tea Honey, Black Moshannon. There are more but I like all those for different reason and conditions.

It has been 5 years since I've fished there and it wasn't then. Maybe that's why I had a good day! O well they all went back in anyway.

I grew up close to tea creek. While it is all on private land, it is not posted to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like my kind of fishing there. Feel free to PM me any info.. I've only seen it where the road to Belvelle crosses over it. I don't get up that way much, but I could make a run to Peachey's and fish for a couple hours.

I wonder if there is any consideration to an earlier first day towards the center region next spring. I have been pushing for an earlier opener south of Rt. 80 for six years. North of Rt. 80 a week later than it is now. For many logistical and economic reasons as well as good weather early. Finally got some give from the fishy comm. having 18 counties open early this past spring. I'm hoping for expansion, getting things started earlier that is with twice the opening day bang.

I disagree with the early opening day, alot of fished dont get stocked until the begining of March and don't have enough time to spread out. Not to mention two weeks of extra fishing pressure. Opening day should be singular, how can you call it Opening Day if there is more than one, even though there really is no closed season, if you know where to fish. I say they have unannounced stockings year round and no closed season on any creeks.

One of the original suggestions that the PFBC considerd doing as a proposal VS the 5  $ stamp , was to stock trout year round along with fishing year round and no more first day and have a 3 fish limit. I guess as always $ talks and they ( PFBC) chose the stamp. They just can't resist throwing hundreds of trout in a hole along side a road just a few weeks from open season so that hundreds of people see it and buy a stamp.

Are you sure you saw tea creek on your way to Belleville? 322 is the only main route that crosses Tea Creek and it is difficult to see. Route 655 crosses a tributary of Kish Creek that we always called Coffee Run. Coffee Run was heavily posted at one time. Not sure if it still is or not. I have not fished it for years but it was a great small limestone stream.

    Glenn-
Must be what you call Coffee Run. May be the name, but not sure. I'm thinking of a small Limestoner- Watercress and all. 665 is the road.
    Thanks,

If the state is going to continue announcing the exact day a stream is stocked, they shouild also shut it down for fishing for at least 48 hours after stocking.

changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes....nothing remains quite the same

Someone was telling me New jersey doesnt allow fishing for 24 hours after a stream is stocked. If the State would hire more fish culturlist  then they wouldnt have to announce the day they are stocking to get "helpers". A local stream in the section near my house isnt an approved trout waters, so the community gets together and has a few kid derbys in a decent hole. After that all the older men use that as there honey holes and it give us year round fishing (unless you have people who dont read or follow the please catch and release signs.)  I wish some streams theyd stock later in the year say October instead of the end of july when its 90 degrees out.

Early stocking the south half of the state for an earlier opener, and later stocking the northern half for a late opener will give the fish commission more time to more effectively get the fish moved about. Logistically this is fiscal. In lieu of having to get the northern tier ready, with later snows in the north hampering the effort, a better effort can be put to the southern half which can be approached in Feb / March. Thus giving a later time period for the Nothern tier stockings. As for not having one opener, well, that's the idea earlier stocking in the south will get the marginal fisherman to buy a license because the golf courses aren't open yet, or the garden is to wet to work. I'm sure there is more to that for reasons as well. And to have a no closed season sounds great but makes no money what so ever. The fish comm is looking for additional $$$.
