another poop truck

On the way home friday, there was a big backup on route 45 in graysville. Ends up one of the poop trucks tipped over at the church. Looked like the truck went up on the east bank then tipped.

Who was the guy here that argued cow poop doesn't get into Spruce Creek ? The creek was about 40 yards away.

A few years ago a poop truck tipped right beside Warriors Mark Run, where huntingdon furnace meets route 350. People were pushing the poop over the bank towards the creek. I rarely drive route 45 during poop spread season. Wonder what I miss ?

Why do so many poop trucks tip over ? I understand that the poop sits up pretty high and a full poop truck could tip easily. Perhaps the poop truck people should drive a little slower, maybe pay attention, or get some different poop trucks with better design.

After all spruce creek is one of central PA's gems, not to mention it empties into the J. Accident once, okay somebody made a mistake. Twice, I'm starting to see a bit of a pattern forming. It'd be interesting to know it these occurances were known by the DEP.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

Wouldn't hurt to call and ask, or let them know about it.

I will do that, since it isn't a freak accident. I've worked with a few of the guys on that special someone who dumped dog food into the creek.

    thanks D.

I fished spruce yesterday. I flipped over a bunch of rocks to see what kind of bugs were crawling around. Didn't see a single sulphur nymph. Noticed a couple baetis and some caddis larva, but little else on the rocks. That's pretty sad when you consider that creek used to be a bug factory.

I caught a few wild trout on PT 18's the other day there. Figured they thought they were sulphurs. I didn't check any rocks. The green indicator hatch was on like mad. Beaver's tardbows wouldn't let it alone.

    Silver,

Can you do anyting abot the high water event on the Little J?  I predict Grannoms in about 12 days and thise 1200 flow isn't going to make fishing conducive.

Hope this isn't one of those years that shes blownout for the hatch, as far as the poop truck never realized the harm they could do always worried more about a train derailing what scares me is I think Spruce is where a lot of the bugs came from that restablished in the river after the prior spills, thats back when she was a bug factory.

way back in the day manure used to be transported in ships, but they could not store it in the cargo holds due to the buildup of methane gas in a low O2 environment and the inherent risk of explosion.  Therefore they had to ship it by securing it up high.  This material came with the instructions to Ship High In Transit (s.h.i.t.).  Maybe that's what's going on here....

perhaps zug. I was looking at the tire marks yesterday.. looks like the truck went up on the bank only about a foot. They are very top heavy. Wonder if the driver was texting.

We are down around 900 now. We can fish it at 600, Shawn. There are places trout will rise to caddis at 600. Put on yer cleats and bring yer wading staff. I'm kidding. I know you like the 250/300ish but it can be fished alot higher. The way I see it, is the "stupid" places we usually walk at 250, is where the trout end up at 600. We fished baree at 480 the other year. My buddy had the good seam. He caught over 20 on grannoms in an hour. I was in a back eddy.. I didn't get a rise. I won't agrue that 300 is about perfect for on top for most places. We go dredgin' at 600 all the time. You wanna go dredgin' Shawn ? Spruce creek should get a "little" caddis hatch. There's been enough for the fish to target them in recent years, but hardly. We could go there too.

I've fished it at 500 and had fish not be able to catch up with the drift and miss the fly.

You didn't get a rise because you probably still had lead on with yur dry fly.

I'll pass on the dredging, but thanks for the invite.

475 -- another 8 days without a major drenching and I think things may be perfect.  Go buy some Gink.
