Coyotes

Has anyone noticed an increase of them this year? So far this year I've see 2 on my grandfathers farm in Center County. And the other night his neighbor came home and there were 5 in his garbage. Also we've been watching 2 flocks of turkeys that started with a hen and about 18 poults in each flock. Each time we saw them there were fewer and fewer turkeys in the flock... till now we don't even see them anymore.

Used to be very rare to see a coyote around where we hunt. Hopefully I run into a couple when I'm out and actually have my gun on me.

They had me surrounded Saturday morning while I headed into the woods.  They were yelping like crazy from three directions(not at me though).

I saw one for a brief moment this morning in the brush about 20 yards away.  If he'd stuck his head out another foot or two, I'd a put an arrow right through him.  The woods were loud as all get out at dawn, then all of a sudden, the hillside behind me went silent.  I thought maybe a low-beard was comin' up hill.  Turned out to be ol' Wile E.  I never heard such a racket get so quiet so quickly.  Sure would've been a neat thing to have as my first kill with the crossbow.

Coyotes are useless.  It wouldn't bother me if we hunted them BACK into extinction in PA.

Saw one a few weeks ago dead on I-80.  It was pretty big and had a black head.  No, it wasn't a wolf although lots of people are claiming they exist.
