thanks for all the usefull insight guys. this board is about as dead as caroga lake. we has 25 tip ups out and only iced 1 perch about 8 inches long and a small mouth around 13-14. we caught another 10 or so tiny 4 to 6 inch perch. pretty dead lake. next time we will fish east caroga. good thing we had lots of beer

    Molly:

Came by the lake on our way home from the volleyball tournament in Dolgeville and the whole lake looked empty of people ice fishing.  Never had much luck fishing that lake winter/spring/summer or fall.
Went by Peck's Lake and wondered if that was still a private lake to fish.  They use to have some really big pike in there, but you had to pay a fee to fish there.  Not even sure if the allow ice fishing in there.
Tomorrow we are going up to our secret lake for browns/lakers/landlocked salmon.  Hope the ice is as good as it was two weeks ago.

Haven't fished Caroga in several years, but on West Caroga you'd get splake near Sherman's and we caught some nice pickerel on West Caroga, along with a few nice perch but mostly small! There are some nice crappie if you can find them! My brother lives on South Shore year around now, but doesn't fish - go figure!

    Mollydogg:

Plenty of good fishing on Canada Creek and not too far from trying the Salmon River with all those steelheads coming in now.  Sent you a PM with our secret spot.
