Can't take a good guess without seeing the whole deer but I'll take a crack at 4.5
That thing looks like it has a double chin, though.

Man, you look about as happy in that pic as you sound on these boards.
I can hear it now..."Just take the picture already!!!"

Tough to say without being able to see the body, and the pic is blurry. If I had to guess I would say 3.5, maybe 4.5

Whatever age it is, it isn't getting any older.

Where was it killed in PA? I'll wait to age it till I know that, but I am saying much younger than the other guesses.

2.5 Not a great picture, and without the body tough, but that is what I'm going with.

I'd say, by the narrowness of the face and the good but not great antlers, 2.5 YO.

The real question is how much did that halibut weight in Ironhed's picture?  I bet that SOB put up a battle.  I can just imagine pulling him out of 200 foot of water.

And the deer?  It is hard to say without seeing the whole body, the belly often gives it away.  But I would say, rack only, probably 2.5-3.5.  It does have a awful long, white face, and that thing on it's neck.....  It might be an older deer, on it's way back down.  Like I said, way too difficult to tell without the body, but it is nice, congrats.

This wasn't my deer but one the PGC took a tooth from as part of a study to age a number of bucks. They sent them to an outside agency to age. I would have guessed him at 2-1/2 -3-1/2 myself based on the antlers. The buck was actually 10-1/2 years old.--------------anyone want to debate age/feed/genetics? That should take us until snow melt.

    50lbs, tippe.
That's the biggest I've ever caught and yes, it fought like hell.  I couldn't imagine a 100+lb'er!
Best eating meat in the world, imo!

    S-10,
Is that a photo of a mount or the actual deer right after it was killed?

    Cool story.

But...I can guarantee you it is not PA's oldest buck.
A friend of mine shot a buck on the last day of flint season about ten years ago.  He still had both sides of his rack and was in full velvet!
He took it to his taxidermist and it was suggested that the jaw be sent in for age evaluation.  And he did.  Paid big bucks for it, too!
To everyone's surprise, the results revealed that this buck was alive for 13.5 years!

I'll be over there next week, I'll take a pic of it and post.

It's impossible to age a deer by a mount because all taxidermists are different but it was fun trying.

That deer looks really old, but How does a buck survive for 10+ years in PA???? Did the guy have it in a pen in his back yard? I assume that deer would have had some 140+ class racks or better in his prime, so how in the heck does a deer like that not get killed in pa?

Glad to hear they still exist, but I am shocked.

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."

I thought this deer was 4.5-5.5 years old. But ten nice. probably pretty bitter eating.. There are some old nasty looking does in one area I hunt. Not sure Quite that old. I Friend of mine parents have a 35 acer piece of land in cranberry and the deer bedded in the pine trees right off there shed. His mom would feed these deer table food NO SHEET!!! Just like that video where camper fed deer from a dining table. she had names for them. She claimed old gracing was about that kinda of age. She even watched her drop fawns. That would be something to see. And yes I hunt there and no I don't hunt right near the house. This is where you can see mature deer darn near every day. Dave

Here's an old fart. Huntingdon county. He ought to be an a nice one next year. Buddy found them hiking. The mass between the G2 and G3's is 5.25 inches. I've been where they were found, I have never hunted there.. don't intend to. But nice to look at.
