FishErie Ice Gathering?

Is anyone interested in getting together this year? February 20th may be a good date as the ice is only getting better on P.I. Bay right now. Any thoughts?

    sounds good 2 me.
I was wondering if there would be one....was perusing the old board & came across the 'Fish Erie Freeze Out IV'...that was in '07...looked like good times.

It was alot of fun. We had alot of good eats and we handed out a few prizes as well. The fishing was good, we all met off the stink hole. Alot of perch and gills with a few crappie and steel mixed in.

That date would work for me. To date I've been to each of the freezeouts and hope to keep the streak going.

The freezouts are a blast. Tried to get something going last year but the ice was not the greatest. Wormwaster usually sets them up, because he was able to get some prized donated from fishusa. If one happens, Im there.

This would be a good opportunity for any non-ice fishing members to see what it's all about too.

OK, the 27th it is. Does everyone want to bring a dish or should it be byof and byob? Lets hear some suggestions for locations, somewhere thats easy for everyone to find. Worm and I will will dig up some prizes/gift certificates. I think back in '07 we had 4 or 5 prize catagories. I won the Ironman Award for sitting on a bucket all day at zero degrees. (I gave my prize to a kid as it would have been crappy to give myself a prize.) We also did a prize for the biggest fish, most fish, biggest fish (kids) and something else that I cant remember.

If I have a vote one way or the other I'd suggest byof/byob. If my normal partner and I make the 3 hour trip we'll have enough stuff to drag along without special food/drink.

I'd also sooner fish than worry about getting food prepared. I think the one year wormwaster had to spend most of his time getting food ready.

From the few guys I've talked to we feel the same way. Its a pain to take out food and then there is a ton of trash left over. I think we should start fishing at 7 am and at noon we can hand out prizes.

Gear Pig award!!!!!!!!!! I won 2nd place in the biggest perch division, got some awesome stuff, including a frogs hair bag that I still use to hold my rods. Either way, I'll have my coleman table and some stoves going for some grub.

everyone can bring something small for food to make it a light trip, one or two bring a coleman stove or portable gas table grill, everyone bring their own drinks, have couple of people bring hotdogs, small package , not expensive, one or two someone bring hotdog buns, someone else bring potato chips, someone else bring pretzles, and someone bring potato salad, can get a big container at Sam's club, etc, etc. You can bring something small , divie it up amoung so it keeps the cost down, and not much trash, especially with foam plates and plastic forks, which the cheapest place for these is dollar general.
27th sounds good to me so far. But got to check with wife make sure there is nothing going on. I would bring something, Have the get together at the one picnic tables before the Niagara boat launch {since it is near stink hole }. just a suggestion.

The fisherie freezout is not all about fishing, its about eating, drinking, bull$hitting with great guys and meeting a whole new bunch of people that love the same passion, most importantly have fun.

I wouldn't blow off an interview for it man....especially since it's not on the 20th, it's the 27th.

As far as the food thing, it's up to the individual weather they bring anything or not. Not a requirement.
I totally understand you guys coming from far & wide not wanting to pack up extra stuff...and won't hold it against anyone who doesn't bring something. It would just be nice to put some faces to names.
