We fish in the DHALO Area  If you need a fly rod I'm sure someone can scrape one up for you to use for the day....

Camping:  there are some KOA campgrounds in the area; don't know if they are open yet.  Don't know if there is any camping in the park but I believe there is but again I don't know when the campgrounds open.  I always stay at the old hotel in the Middle of Oil City.  Really decent place witha nice bar and there was a good resturant there too.  The Hotel is located right where Oil Creek dumps into the river. (Mississippi or Snake, I'm not sure).  Just search hotels in Oil City.  The motel up by the airport is OK but a little further out.
     If you are coming and you don't fly fish and you need a rod/flies/bamboo. just let me know by pm.  Rapalla!  This is an EXCEEEELLLLENT time to break out the boo!

I can almost envision the fishing Gods laughing their collective arses off with me trying to throw a fly.Either way I'm gonna try to be there this year to meet everyone if nothing else.Not to mention I make a good system cleaning chili that might be enjoyed

Ok its a plan.  Ill have to open the archives up in the brain and remember how to get there. Wasnt to hard to find last year ( I did it all by my self  ) , it was my first time ever down there. Im gonna make it an annual trip as long as their outing is held on a sunday.

i want to laugh, but if i do, i will be going in the drink.  i plan on bringing two pairs of waders and three changes of clothing.

You can ride with me! I can usually find PA 3 out of 4 tries. And I only get lost once or twice trying to find Oil City. After that it's easy. Just follow the little river upstream till you see a bunch of cars. Actually I think we meet in the picnic area across the steel bridge in Petroleum Center. If you can find Petroleum Center go across the single lane steel bridge, go about 200 yards and turn right into the parking lot. We're usually the middle pavillion near the restrooms.

It appears that Sunday, May 16th is obviously the most popular date to have the outing, so let's go with it. Most usually fish in the morning, then we meet around noon at one of the pavilions beside the creek, once you travel over the steel bridge at Petroleum Center. (Oil Creek State Park)

It time for a roll call of those planning on attending and what you can bring (food, plates, etc.) to the picnic Sunday, May 16th. I will update this list daily.

If my Dr(s) will allow it I'll be there and I bring some fresh, teriaki marinated, thinly sliced, flank steak and some kaiser rolls. Maybe some spicy mustard and some swiss. Who's bringing the pickled peppers?

I will be attending.
 I will bring a batch of my smoked steelhead (cajun,lemon pepper,and garlic flavors)just like last year.

 guess im going to have to do some "snagging" this spring and rope a couple.
