Hello fishermen and women, well the best place on the bay right now seems to be 4th parking lot, fish are being picked up all over the place and in different size and numbers. Chestnut is still putting up the numbers, but a lot of throw backs but will catch fish. MB is producing Gils some crappie and a few perch. 2nd parking lot sporadic on picking up perch, no large numbers, haven't heard how gils are, large mouth being caught on the flats, liberty park and yacht club is too sporadic, horseshoe pond gills. I have not talked to anyone getting any northerns, few steelhead being picked up. Grubs and minnows are producing but like another angler ( imrinc ) said put a lot of grubs on the hook. He has been doing really well out there. We are all here to because it something we enjoy doing alone, with friends and family. These forums are here to help or guide each other in the sport we love. Have fun and be safe, keep the lines tight, hookem' & cookem'~ Good fishing.

Fished off the 4th lot yesterday afternoon.  Kept 5 decent perch.  But it was slow going.  Freind with me had a camera, the bottom was loaded with small gills.  occassionally would have a good mark go by about 5' off the bottom, suspect they were steelies.

Headed to 4th parking lot tomorrow morning have been going to 2nd and walking all over that area of 2nd , 3rd, and yacht club. Yesterday and today did not fish. Took a ride down to chestnut late this afternoon and talked to a gentleman and his son and they didn't get many, they said a ton of small ones. They said the guys they talked to did not do well either. Ice as you know is still good I don't know how it is east of dobbins just yet for you deep water fishermen. see ya on the ice

Alaskan, let me know how you do.  I've never fished East of Dobbins.  I've been meaning to try off East Ave.  Have you
seen anybody out there this year?

West of the 4th lot, before you get to the big weed bed.  There's a drop off in there.  You'll see guys parked along the road there.

Slow day for me today, I know some people had success ,but a lot of people I talked to were not having that much success today. This morning I went to MB, then quit around noon, went back out fishing off third parking lot at 3pm and it was slow, marked fish, just no takers. Then the winds out of the east really picked up! Anyone know what they are forecasting for winds on Saturday?
Prob head off chestnut on Saturday and take my son.

I was off Chestnut on friday. The fish cops were checking people as we were leaving. He said I had the fullest bucket he'd seen that day. Caught 17 keepers in 6 hours(almost all over 9"). I was east of the main pack and closer to shore, about 1/3 of the way to Dobbin's and 1/3 out to the middle. I also noticed how it picked up with the wind shift. Caught over half my bucket from 1:00 to 3:00.

Went off chesnut 11-2 strong winds the whole time we were there.  I was the only one who caught anything, a dink perch a smelt on jig and meal worms in about 18 ft of water.  Might try again tomorrow

Hello all, fished off 3rd parking lot yesterday, did not like the rocks at 4th to go over them to get out there. Drilled about 25 holes, thank god for power auger! A lot of dinks, 1 lb, 3 perch, 1 gil, lost a nice crappie, quite a few throw backs. Talked to a guy he was off the marina area of the bay it was slow, he nothing to right home about. Might make the trip to Pym, tomorrow or Boro lake for something different.
Ice thickness is great. The best ice we have had in years!!!

Took the wife and kids to the SON'S ice fishing outing on the waterworks ponds. Fished there for two hours caught nothing. Even though we didn't catch anything the kids had fun and the hot chocolate was good. A big thank you goes out from my family to the all the SON'S. Afterwards we moved to the fifth paking lot and fished just east of the pack. Brought home five average perch and six niced sized gills.

Hello fellow fishermen and women, My son and I went out last evening off chestnut to 18fow, marked fished, caught alot of small throw backs. He caught 3 keepers, caught on grubs and minnies. Hard walkin with the snow on top of the ice. Good 10-12 inches of ice out there. Quite a few huts scattered all across the bay. we fished 4-7pm when we got back in two guys were heading out to fish, I asked what they been getting at night they said perch. They went toward the convention center, last I saw them they were just east of the pump house before C.C. off the old Private boat launch that was east of the water works. in about 10-12fow.
Heading to Boro after job interview today.

Hello fellow fishermen and women, I went out this afternoon about 2pm. Went off 4th parking lot today to fish the stinkhole. I started on the outside flat 9fow, no fish no hits. drilled 10 holes over a large area checked them with the vex, nothin, still put up tip ups, nothin. moved in to the stink hole 13fow and picked up gills. Ended up with 16. Marked a lot of fish too. Good Ice, long walk, at times tough drag from the snow. fished to 6:20pm, no perch not even throwbacks.
