Pan Fishing in South East PA

Hello,

I am a new fisherman to the area and would like to know if there are any good Pan fishing lakes in the area.  I am not looking for exact spots just an idea of some good lakes.  Thanks for you help.

    Ontelaunee Lake  just outside or Reading  --  Located along Rt. 73, and inbetween Rt. 222 and Rt. 61
     
    Green Lane Reservoir  --  Near Pennsburg / Green Lane, along Rt. 663 and inbetween 663 and 29

    Placement on map is approximate

    1700 Waggoners Gap Road
    Carlisle, PA 17013 They drained Opposum Lake and took all the fish out and stocked them in the Conodoguinet. There's a launch there, and about a mile down stream there is a dam. It's loaded with crappie and bass now.

    Thanks for your replies.  I have had a couple non-fisherman suggest Marsh Creek Lake and Blue Marsh Lake...I live in the Pottstown area so they would be more convenient for me.   Does anybody know anything about these lakes??

    Never fished Marsh Creek but used to spend a lot of time on Blue Marsh.Blue Marsh has lots of pan fish and just about everything else including Stripers,early spring is a time when you could do well on Crappie and gills when they come in to spawn.It's a good size lake so it'll take some time to learn,contact local tackle shops they might be of some help.

    Marsh Creek is a very productive lake for a large variety of species.  It used to be the lake that the PA Fish and Boat claimed had the largest variety of species in the state.  I fish there quite often.  If you are looking to get out now you will need to wait as the water is hard.  It is not a huge compound by any stretch of the imagination...electric motors only and you need a launching permit.

    ...just watch for the twitch and then bring on the thunder!
