Inland ice fishing

I was getting VERY frustrated ice fishing at Presque Isle Bay. Tried at least a half a dozen times getting 2 or 3 marginal keepers each time. Friday tried Edinboro Lake and got a nice mess of bluegills and some small perch. PIcked up a handful of perch at Woodcock on Saturday, but it was fun watching everyone chase tip ups. Saw about 4 20-inch or better walleyes caught on tip ups using chubs or big fat heads. Guy next to me caught a musky - I think about 28 inches but was very stocky - well fed. Next time at Woodcock you better believe I'll have my tip ups and find minnows/chubs somewhere.

I have been thinking about going to Woodcock. Do you park on the east side? Fish the deep end?

However you get to 198 and are heading east, turn at the signs for Colonel Crawford park, then follow those signs to the park and boat ramp. This is on the SOUTH side of the reservoir. Then head out towards the "tower"...you want to be about 100 to 150 yards east of the "tower". You should be in 19 to 22 FOW. Good ketchin'!
