sweet deal from Orvis

SO i had a 8'6 Trident TLS 2wt that I broke (rolled up a window on it my first day in CO)

I got a call from Orvis today saying that they no longer made the rod or had parts for them...
so i could have my choice T3!
7'9 2wt OR 8'4 3wt

Thinking about the 2wt

SWEET deal considering I paid about $200 for the Trident and the new T3 is $545

I have cast both the t3 and the trident at different times while guiding. I gotta say, I liked the trident a lot more. The t3 seemed lighter, but a lot stiffer than the trident. The t3 rods that i have cast seem like they can throw 90ft of line, but had trouble fishing close and fishing light tippets.

None the less, its a pretty sweet deal.....

There is a 30day trial period... so i can switch out for the 3wt

    I have a pretty slow 8'6 5wt that fishes like a 4
I liked the idea going as short as possible, given this is my small, close, and light rod

ever get your hands on the T3 in a 2wt?  I have fished the 5wt and your right.. it feels like a cannon
that's what made me hesitate from moving up to a 3wt

I did like that Trident TLS (not the power matrix)  and wish i had been in my SUV (with a rod loft) instead of the rental
o well I buy for the rod, but the warranty is a close second
