glad to hear you finally had a good day.

Was your skunked buddy using a different kind or line or did he have any odorants (like gas) on his hands that might have stunk up his equipment?

thanks, highclasshillbilly, for the props! we've actually have had many good "nights", the days have still been way below average for that lake. it would be nice to bag some fish with teeth, atleast more than one per day.that probably wont happen til last ice though...

yeah, highclass. the guy that landed only five,i dont know what he was doing differently, maybe his med action rod couldnt feel the bite? hookin his minnows through the lip, rather than near the dorsal fin? not keepin fresh bait? hes new to ice fishing & gets frustrated easily. he had his first flag on large bait the other day(finally), he was pumped until he landed a 16in northern, he was disgusted and ready to quit. oh well, hell figure it out another day...

Great report. Take us some pics! I've never been ice fishing, but I would love to try some time.

Caught 5 northerns from 24-32 in. last week. A buddy of mine landed about a dozen. We also missed a bunch. You need to find them as they are not all over the lake.

yer buddy got all those pike in a day or a weeks time? everyone ive talked to have been able to manage one a day while targeting them. ive been skunked 3 times while fishing all day for big fish, and then have some one get a northern at night while crappie fishing them. they seem to be spread out pretty well this ice season. i have yet to fish slatelick or wyerough yet though.

My buddy is up to 19. He also has caught 3 bass, one 19 in. and 8 chain pickerel. He fishes about 3 days a week. He uses store bought shiners. One thing different is he makes his own wire leaders, they are almost invisible. He only fishes where he gets flags. He will move if he doesn,t get flags. Gobe

These maps are pretty nice and they are waterproof too.  They have fishing tips and location recommendations on them too, so they are well worth the money.

Now are you going to make it "worth my while" and tell me where I can catch a 10 pound walleye???
