I've never used that particular camera but I have an Aqua View Scout and I love it. They run about $200 and I think they are well worth it.

The 5.5" screen is $89.99 on sale
The 7.7" is $199.99 regular price

Is the 5.5" screen big enough?

Depending on your price range, I picked up the Fish T.V. for around a hundred bucks. I personally think it works great. Fished with a buddy who has an aquaview and there was'nt a real noticeable difference. What it all boils down to is water clarity.

If it were'nt for venitian blinds...it would be curtains for all of us!!

i have both vex & camera, you will catch more fish w/vex and drive yourself insane w/camera. camera fishing is a blast when their hitting but when the are not its extremely frustrating. the camera is better for perch than crappie or gills as suspended fish will be hard to find. JMO

I have a camera, good deal on it used a few times. I love it! Great, makes the fishin better when you can see and tell your buddy ones comin. But its not for fishin all the time. Kind of like most of the gear we have, great at times, don't bother to take it others. Really makes you mad though when you can see them and do all you can, but they don't bite. Never fished a vex, so couldn't say a thing about them other than a few people I know swear by them.

If the guy wasn't wanting to sell at that price and my dad wouldn't had called me about it, and I bought it. Wouldn't have been no sweat off my back, haven't caught an extra fish from it. But it's cooler than .............

Save the cash till you can get a vex. As said above vex will catch you fish. I have both, the camera is fun, but not nessecary. My vex is NESSECARY!

Get the vex first like the guys said the vex will catch you fish, cameras are fun, get more use out of the vex. If fish are not bitting and you can see the fish it is going to frustrate you or even get you mad. Get vex first get camera later to entertain yourself with if you have extra money.

Get a flasher... camera is too much hassel. Had the 5.5 inch version returned it and bought a hummingbird 35 this year... much easier to fish with in my opinion.

Get the camera almost nothing beats watching the fish swim around; Except maybe catching them with a vex.

you'll see a ton more fish on the Vex, than you will ever see with the cam... unless you put it in your minno bucket

amen vexilar! even marcum flashers. if you don't know the depth you ain't gonna find'em with a camera. i have both. vex hands down the best single item you can own for ice fishing. you'll wonder why you ever fished without one. with that camera, you will definitely have more luck in your minnow bucket!

If any of you guys want to see how an underwater camera works, I'll have mine at the "Ice Box on Aurthur" event. So long as my battery (new last year) doesn't go bad, we can have some fun with it. But come look if you want, mines an older model, but still works great, for fun that is.....

I'd have to say vex also. I had never used one, but finally couldn't take it anymore. Found a lightly used FL-8 for 150 bucks and have at least doubled my catch. Not only catch more, but find them sooo much faster. That's the best part....no fishing dead holes. camera would be a cool addition, but it's not going to find you fish like the vex.

I have an Aqua-View DT and a MarCum LX-5. I'm more addicted to watching the camera than the vex but your not able to see whats higher in the water column when the cam is on the floor looking for perch when the perch were suspended 10' higher like yesterday.
My buddy has this exact camera your asking about and he doesn't like it at all and I would get an Aqua-View brand over any just my $0.02 worth. Not too mention the 50'fow of water we have been fishing, he can't reach with the camera & I can with the Aqua-View.
