canada lake trout

hey i want to start fishing canada lake for lake trout and was wondering how deep of water i should go, how far down i should fish, and what i should use for bait.  im trying hard as hell to catch a trout on purpose but it doesnt seem to be working.

if at first you dont succeed... blow it up.

you want organic? well then shut the &^$() up and eat a *$&#*( squirrel.

    Craveman:  I've never ice fished there and only fished it by boat once and didn't catch any lakers.  There is a marina there though right on Rt 29A.  I'd go in there and ask and hope you get good advice.  I think the forage base in there are smelt.
