hummingbird ice 35

I plan on getting the hummingbird ice 35 from cabelas tomorrow... has anyone ever used the unit? I did some research and most people said it was better than the marcum for $299 and the fl-8 but i just wanted some opinions. those are the only 3 units that the wheeling store has on hand so I have to get one of those. Thanks for any imput

I got a flier in the mail today that said starting tomorrow all ice fishing electronics are 15% off.  I'd get there early if there are only 3 left.

not sure what a friend of mine has (number wise) on the bird but i've stared at his and watched him use it and im sure i'd understand it more if it was in my hole but i have had the vexilar fl-8se for 6 years now and if the two machines were sitting there i'd most likely pick up the vexilar.

I got the hummingbird ice 35 for $240 + tax so I was happy with the pice. caught 50 gills testing it out on a farm pond. I think it will work a lot better in deeper water.... sometimes the green line for my jig disipears.. does anyone know why? i just need more practice with it i think

if you got the gain on the lowest setting, then your going to see everything and have alot of interfearance(weeds and colors). the more you go up on the gain the less the little things will show up... at least with my vex

I was a Vex owner for about 10 years then when Humminbird released their flashers I figured i would give something else a try. I bought the Ice45 and absolutly love it.  I have used it side by side with a Vex, and yes the Vex is a great unit but so is the Humminbird ICE 45.  There are a few more options than the Vex which i like.  Back light, digital depth readout, more zoom options..... and so on.   This is my second year using it, and i have had any problems.  If something was to happen to it and i had to buy a new flasher i would go with whoever had the best deal at the time Vex or Humminbird.
