Out On The Ice Friday

Going out Friday with a couple friends. We've got it narrowed down to Canadarago or Delta lake. I'm leaning toward Delta myself, those northerns are a lot of fun.

    where do you go on delta?  ive never fished the ice there and was thinking of trying it this week.  what time you going out on friday?  canadarago ive been catching perch but thats all i can seem to get.

    if at first you dont succeed... blow it up.

    We usually go right out from the beach, hang a right and fish out in front of the campgrounds. We plan on being on the ice by 10 am, but I'm still not sure if we're going to Delta or Canadarago. Nothing wrong with perch, you catching any nice ones?

    Think it's worth the haul from Albany to try Delta .... i've been looking at some pics on ice shanty and looks like there are some niiiiiiice big pike in there .... are there decent numbers as well?
     
    If anyone has any suggestions on where to fish i would really appreciate it ... and i put almost all of my pike back so i won't hurt the fishery.

    2 years ago at delta i caught a 32 inch pickerel and never noticed it till i looked at the cell phone pics.  i think it would have been close to the state record.  i was just assuming it was a pike because of its size and never noticed that band on the eye till i got home :(  may be going to delta tomorrow.  im not a fan of perch unless im using them for bait for bigger stuff.

    My buddies are dead set on canadarago today, Delta next trip. That pickerel sounds like a beauty craveman, We've caught some nice ones there too. Good luck.

    We generally have pretty good luck on Delta Ship Of fools. Decent numbers of fish and some nice ones. I think most times it would be worth the drive.
