Vexilar fl-8se pro pack

Getting a Vexilar fl-8se pro pack from Gander this week so I have it for Saturday, I got the Clam Nanook last week, this week the Vex, I can't afford to get the Vex fl18, or 12. What is your guys take on the fl-8? I think for most of the fishing around here it is a great sonar. We are using a Norcross Hawkeye pocket fish finder g33p, it gives depth, shows fish, but doesn't show lure or jig. For the $300. I didn't think that was too bad for a Vex.

you will like your fl 8se just fine' had mine for i think 6 years now and love it. i cant see the fl-18's advantages in most lakes that are 20-25 feet. all it does different is has a different "zoom" and i cant see using(also paying more for something rarely used) that unless you were in deeper water alot. my fl-8se doesnt zoom and i can see true bottom just fine up to 20 feet. i've fished alittle deeper, all i noticed was my jig disappears in the "red" and then 6 inches later of still dropping my line goes slack and my jig will hit the bottom, so its pretty accurate on reading bottoms. you'll have a blast with it.
