lmao, I knew there was a catch to this internet! I'm not ever posting my honey holes so close to myarea of the tristate metro! It wouldn't surprise me a ton of internet newbies lowered the water! If and when I post pics it will be closeups and I'm not giving away any local spots.

    Jeff

BIG DEAL!  Each year that information is posted on several internet sites and in all the newspapers.  Ed Noonan is probably responsible for more help to fishermen and hunters than anyone.
Jeff you have to lighten up a little.  Next thing we know you will take up guiding and keep all the good spots a secret.

Ed - all I meant was that those Lake will probably receive a lot more pressure this weekend then normal. Not sure if you saw the article - he mentioned 5 gal buckets of 13-15in crappie, 1 1/2 pound Perch in Toga and mid 30 in class Pike in Lake Lonely.

This whole post was to inform people that those lakes will have a lot of extra people out there and ya might want to think about another spot to fish this weekend(period)

    BIG DEAL!

Aren't you the one that is constantly concerned about loosing access to lonely due to parking issues and motorized use of the walking trail? Don't you think an article in the paper is going to make the crowds come and make it more likely to get closed?

Sure seems like a "big deal" to lonely from that perspective... no?

Sorry i missed your call ..... we may head out Sunday at the buttcrack of dawn .. i'll let you know.

The only problem is now i don't go anywhere else! ... it really is tough to go somewhere when i am pretty confident i can ice a couple of pike (or more) in an outing   ..... they are too much fun to catch through the ice .. i love watching the first run they make after seeing the hole ... blastin away and takin all the line  - gotta love it!

I got a 24" on the jigging rod the other day as well....i think it was as much or more fun than the lakers i got on the jigging rod last year.

You totally missed my point about access.  My concern is about those who tear up a perfectly decent hiking trail with their four wheelers because they are too lazy to walk in and maintain the lovely surroundings.
Articles in the newspaper are happening all the time about where to fish and Ed Noonan is a wonderful supporter of our outdoorsmen whether hunting or fishing.  I have known and respected him since I was director of the YMCA in Saratoga in the late 70s.
Re-read my post and see where the concern was about the damage to the trail and the environment.

Boys, boys. Nobody reads that rag outside of Schenectady, and we know nobodys getting any buckets of 13-15" crappie out of LL.  The crowds will be befuddled and gone in a week (if there are any). Perhaps Mr. Ed is trying to throw a curve to get people off his own favorite lake.

    Kevin:

Were you ever right about this quote.  I was out on Lake Lonely today from 8:30am until 1pm when I finally saw another ice fishermen who turned out to be a friend of NY Yank.  I caught four small pike (none over 25") and five perch (all under 7").  Didn't know Barry had any friends.

Let us not have a guy from New Jersey talk to us about water!  One of our best friends lives in Ramsey and is starting to glow in the dark from drinking New Jersey water.  The water is almost as bad as the politicians from New Jersey.

Bergen county new jersey water is not the only thing tainted as you say.., The town of Ramsey in Bergen county nj has one of the richest tax payers in america.. they are currently renovating secret service task force inteligence facilities and dumping millions of dollars in their new state of the art police academy buildings too! I swear it looks like some futuristic facility with communication towers shooting indoor ranges .. i bet they even have raygun training section!you'd think belongs on Mars! Seriously, I think it is all this communication bs ..sometimes the feedback can get boring and so it comes off insulting and starts these swing moods.. not to mention the chemicals in our jersey drinking water! You are right Ed, but it isn't just polluted industrialized old jersey.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh8m6i0CmDU our towns water isn't safe for drinking as are most towns in jersey.. there is nothing (new) about new jersey anymore.. it is overbuilt slab of macadem and concrete and as you said, has the most poisonist and filthiest corruptive pigs and politians in the entire country. Partly why I never purchase a hunting /fishing jersey license. I'm still greatful and look on the brighter side like,i could never afford the taxes here in nj so I'm staying single and never buying a house in new jersey. I contribute to the obama therory of socialism because, i don't see much a choice seeing how most are now being hearded! peace and be greatful we weren't in haiti! enjoy the football today! john
