Antietam Lake 1/3/2010

Hit the hardwater for a little under 2 hours.......the temp with the wind chill probably was in the single digits........

managed a few yellow perch, a bluegill and a crappie

the SHOWDOWN is proving well worth the money spent on it

Fishing in 26 FOW and all of a sudden there was a dash from 26 feet to about 18, then to 15, then to 10 feet.........I was reeling like mad to catch up to the fish.......it turned out to be a nice crappie......THAT WAS NEAT

also marked a fish in 20 FOW when the bottom depth was 24 feet......it turned out to be a nice bluegill

Ice thickness was about 4 inches........but, the lake will be thicker in some spots and thinner in others......be safe and have fun

there were about 7 guys on the ice......everyone all spread out......it was tough to concentrate with the wind just ripping through.....the bucket wanted to slide......the auger was sliding.....it was brutal

I have a family HUT, but not a small rover type with sled attached........that is on my I REALLY NEED THAT list.....the wife thinks otherwise and generally rolls her eyes at me....but I shouldn't complain, if I want to go fishing.....she doesn't have a problem with it.....
