Last week (pics)

what a week! Hunting, Fishing and Phishing!

It was an interesting start to my Gun Season. Started by not waking up in time for opening morning. Sat for the evening and had a TINY fawn come in, just walking around. Sunday morning start by spooking deer out from under the stand, then watching a doe and fawn fooling around with each other. That was it for deer until I pulled the chip out of the trail cam. Tuesday morning, there was a very, very large buck chasing a doe under my stand at 730 am...while I was on my drive to work. UGH!!! I am not shooting at ANY deer at my stand until that big boy comes by when I'm in it.

As for fishing, my buddy Jon and I just had to make a trip up to RJ's brown town for one more trip, and let me tell you, it wasn't just brown town!

Speaking of the concert ... any word from Jimmy ? Did he survive the concert LOL ?
 
I was surprised he hadn't chimed in after the Broncos put a whooping on the G-Men !!! Woo HOO

I planned on doing a lot more fishing this last week  but only made it to the salmon for about 2 -3hrs on monday. Great time though, my buddy landed 2, I hooked up about 4 or 5 times, I wanted to throw streamers and did and man is that fun having those fish drill a streamer. UFZ was packed though and lost a dark but non fungised up chinook when it wrapped around a guy who had walked upstream to about 10 ft from me. Even had about three nice browns miss my streamer right at the surface, and thats the way the chinook ended up taking it. I think thats what attracted the other guys to me and my buddy cause didn't even see another hookup the shorttime we were there.
 
I know nymphs and eggs take a lot of fish, but man I had fun fishin those streamers. and with this nice weather there is surely a few more trips to be made.

Awesome trip Lance and John. Lance what kind of stand you sitting in? Homemade or a bought kind? I will be finding out this Friday when my surgery will be for the problem I was telling you about a couple months back. Can't wait to get it taken care of!

I didn't want to crap on Perchie's weekend, but I sure thought the Broncos looked solid.  Right on task again.  But compared to the Saints right now, everyone looks like a Pop Warner squad.  Wow.
 
As for Phish?  Another ragin' weekend in downtown Albany.  Great party, great freinds, great shows, and all around good times had by all. 
 
I did survive the weekend and stay out of trouble (although BARELY, on both accounts).  I've never felt as old as I did on Sunday morning.

I started with egg sucking leaches and got a 2 browns to hit, then after about 20 minutes of nothing I switched to a black ghost and the fish were actively chasing that but my excitment attracted others and that makes swinging tougher.
 
the cool thing was the black ghost was a little beat up so I tossed it out to see if it was running right with no weight on it and as I watched it right below the surface that chinookie took two swipes at it, next cast the salmon took it almost as soon as it hit the water.
 
that place is always awesome, but it looks like that section you guys were on too is closed now, so december means some searching for steel!!! Again great stuff

I might even be up for a suicide trip if my odds are good of catching any of those brutes !

For all you guys making the run to CNY the weekend of Dec 11th - another stop that might be worthwhile is the Syracuse Ice Fishing Show.
I've never been myself but, it may be a good place to pick-up some gear especially if you're "in the neighborhood"
