Leech...

here is my version of the articulated/string/MOAL leech

50lb gel spun
super glue
jumbo zonker strips (not cross cut)

there is no thread unless you want to do a head or add weight

a small dab is all you need
as you advance... its more of a fold 45* forward than wrapping
i'm using jumbo strips and the fullness of the strip allows me to advance with a full body
a very small dab of glue on each fold

cut off and switch color
once again small dabs of glue as you go
add flash as needed

now you need a small section of shank
something to anchor the gel spun and a place to tie on
as small as possible

now its time for the head
you can angle cut the strip ad glue off
or, i wanted weight glued off the strip and left a good ridge to but my eye up to

this can get tricky, since there is nowhere to set the vice...
so you have to use your hand as the vise

sloppy head... doesn't matter
this thing will swim and really looks alive
there is nothing rigid... just the string

not sure how it will hold to toothy critters...
can imagine any problems since it is thick rabbit and 50# gel spun is no joke

but, these are for steelhead swinging

That's awesome! Never thought of tying on line like that...

KJ I've been wanting to do exactly what you did but I just havent got around to doing it. Once I catch up on everything I plan on playing around with this. If I ever catch up.
