Whats the difference?

Hi everyone, I had never even heard of pinning until I started steel fishing a few years back and am still confused as to what it really is?
1. Whats the main difference between it and spin fishing?
2. Why do you like it more?

Hopefully somebody can clear me up on this thanks!

Boy for a group of individuals who concentrate so much on watching a bobber on the water, you dont have much of an attention span. Just answer the mans question instead of talking with me. The way this goes. Somebody asks a question. Others answer. He asked a question, and I answered it the best I could. Others should do the same. That papinner was the closest in the proper question and answer method. But he never answered the question. He is making the individual leave his house and spend time with a bunch of strangers to find an answer. Boy it would be much easier if papinner could have just answered the mans question without making the man possibly drive hundreds of miles. I thought the reason for the internet was to find any information from the comforts of your own home. I guess I was mistaken.

    swinger,

I said it once, but no reply...

I sold my pin, can we be friends now?

"Sure, we can assiduously three-quarter our wets downstream, mend and wait out each fly swing, over and over again, which to my way of thinking, anyway, relegates the angler to the role, not of nemesis as it should be, but of butler."

Before you decide to float them sacks, try eating a few pieces and see how well you can pass all that nylon.

    1. Whats the main difference between it and spin fishing?

The only main difference between spin fishing and centerpin fishing is in the reel for the most part.
The reel is free spooling at all times unless you have your clicker engaged. The clicker is simply a switch that
hold the spool from spinning when you are not using the rod. It is not designed to be a drag system, however some
use it and engage it once they have a fish on. All the drag and tension is supported by palming the reel as you fight a
fish. Very similar to the way that some fly fisherman have to do if they have their drag set really loose and a fish
                 takes off on them.

    2. Why do you like it more?

I like it more at the present time just because it has become a new technique in my arsenal. I fish with every rod
imaginable, but right next to tossing huge toothy critter lures with the 6600....it is my favorite. OH!!!...and I love
how this form of fishing irritates some people for the simple fact that it is a centerpin. You will see what I mean.

If you have any more questions feel free to PM me or ask Swinger (the closet pin fisherman)

    Dano,

If the sacs are making their way to the fishes belly, you must be sleeping during your drift.

    +1

I have used them for kings in the past. And those things are hard enough to get off a hook.
I have had more success with jigs and flies to **** around with sacs anymore. Maybe someone was
chumming them in with egg sacs. Thats what it looks like to me. LOL

I delete swingers posts when they are bashing people just as I did yours. I try to get to all the BS, as you put so well, but there is so much of it going on here, sometimes I may miss a post or two.

Yes I do remember that post. I got kind of busy and let that one slip through the cracks. Sorry. I have also let a pm to a fellow swing guy go unanswered. So dont think it is a personal thing. You could be my friend even if you didnt sell your pin. I just hope you didnt sell it to buy another.

I dont understand why people think I dont like pinners. I dont ever recall saying that I didnt like pinners.

The main difference is that it's supposedly easier to  get a drag free drift with a centerpin. If you know how to use a spinning rod though you can drift just as well.

    Spoony,
    They ain't my eggs.

If they can put a man on the moon (allegedly), why can't they make quick dissolve netting.

Cuz the netting would probably dissolve half way through most pinners' 150 yd. drift!
