2 days of pheasant

We went out to lone pine friday when they stocked birds. We sat around and BS with a couple of guys (if your one of those guys nice meeting you) till the stocking truck came. We then gave a the birds a little time to spread out, before hunting and getting our limit. We walked right over to were the birds had landed but the dog couldnt even get a scent of them. So we walked a small field were my brother saw a bird jump up in the grass. I called the dog over and she flushed that bird out of there with no problem. I shot the bird hit the ground with a thud and it went no where. We walked into another field where the dog flushed a rooster out of the woods and my dad nailed him. We walked several more fields without getting anything. So we got in the car drove to the top, walked out a hedge row and the dog went on point. We got ready, told her to get the bird and to roosters went up. I shot the first, and my dad shot the second. 2 hours of BS and 2 hours of hunting, turned out to be a nice relaxing day.

We also went out today, weather was kinda bad, but i still got my limit. We went back to lone pine, but the first rooster jumped wasnt expected and neither of us got a shot at it. She then went on point again. She jumped a cripple and ran and caught this bird, but got lost in the woods and ended up loosing it. The only reason we know she had it was because she had small fathers from the stomach in her mouth, kinda felt bad that we couldnt get it tho. I petted her and looked at my hand and there was blood on it, poor dog ran into a fence sometime and didnt give up. We were getting ready to leave when my brother yells to us and says he saw a rooster. So i crept up to itand and bam, he was down. So we headed home to drop the dog of so she could rest up. We then went to a place close home and saw a bird running on the side of the road. We chased him up and to the field and headed down to where he landed. It was strange not having my dog with me and we thought that we were going to walk over this bird. Well we did and when we were walking back the way we came, he must have been walking back to where he started because we spooked him and he started running. I took 2 shots and the second one stopped him in his tracks.

Sorry that this was long, but just felt like typing something, hope you liked the pics

ya she retrieves them, she got me a duck in youth duck last year. And when she got hurt, it was pretty sad, but she needed to rest up so we took her home. Saddest thing i ever had to see was that face when we were driving away.
