Oak Orchard Trip 10th thru 13th.

Just got back from the Oak, fish spread out through the whole river in good numbers, Lots of Salmon, quite a few Browns being caught as well as quite a few steelies. Water levels were a lil deeper in the afternoons due to daily releases at the Dam from recent rains received.
Seems to be alot more browns and steelhead this year this early. Egg Patterns, buggers, suckerspawn were the answer for us.
Hope this helps.

I made my first trip ever same weekend. Was not expecting much since it was my first time, but we got into some fish. Kings, browns and steel. learned alot, and will be looking forward to returning soon. Watching those guys at the dams was crazy! I was absolutley speechless. That didn't even look like fun to me...  watching them drag fish in sideways with 2 ounce sinkers then high fiving each other. SNAGGERS!

    Bjk,
Iwould have to say yes that they are still there in strong numbers as I stated in my other post. There weren't hardly any dead Salmon around and all the ones I saw were still pretty green and not turning black yet. Plus there were alot of Brown trout and steelhead in the mix. I think it would be worth the trip for a few more weeks if after Salmon and then great for browns Nov.and later..

No problem! Thanks for your reply. I will be up there this weekend and I appreciate the info. I will be targeting salmon and hopefully some browns.
