My favorite time to catch carp is when the waters in between 65-50 degrees.Fills the gap between flatheading and steelheading!

    Nope.
The carp shut down and hibernate and bury themselves in the mud and cannot be caught after Oct.

We do really well for the carp this time of year...night time is really good this time of year. A couple of years ago we got on an evening-night bite on a pond by us, and kept catching them through november by lantern light until it finally froze up. Never thought I would be catching carp, at night, during a driving blizzard.

I caught a real nice carp last Friday night, it was probably 30" or so and over 20 lbs.  I've caught some carp over the summer and none of them put up much of a fight, but the one I caught the other night fought really hard, probably due to the falling water temps and increase in oxygen levels.

I caught 10 carp last friday at wilhelm and they put up a heck of a fight.  I used to think carp shut down inthe winter but from what I understand you can still catch them in the winter just at a slower rate.  Im going to try this winter.

Fall is incredible for stalking carp on the creeks in SW PA.  They feed heavily and readily hit flies or bait.  Some of my best days for numbers were in late October.  Also some of the biggest fish I've ever landed were in the fall.  They also hit in the winter and make a good day of fishing when you can't get to Erie or fish for anything else.  A sunny day, even if it's cold will put fish in the mood to feed.  Chumming corn helps too.  Not much of a fight in the winter but if you'd rather be outside then on the couch on a cold winter Saturday, and you know where to find them, you can do well.  Generally they group up in large numbers in small areas.  So getting a few to bite isn't a problem if you find a good pack.  On creeks look for them under trees and in slow holes up against banks.  In large rivers look for them in still water off sides and backs of islands.  In fact some of the largest river carp I've ever seen were on a steelhead trip in Indiana on the St. Joseph river in December.  The back of the island had dozens of carp that were mostly 15-20 lb fish.  A few looked around the 30 lb mark.

Yep, contrary to what some people think, carp can be caught year round right thru winter.  The only month I haven't got a carp from Wilhelm is Feb., but it usually has ice much of the time that month.  Although, carp are caught thru the ice at times and there are a few hardcore carpers that target 'em thru the ice.
Like has already been mentioned, the key to catching them in cold weather in to find where they gather in the winter, and feed 'em a little, easier said than done sometimes.  It can be tough catching them in the winter, but that's the challenge.  A little warm up in the winter, can get them the most active.  I find moving water(cricks and rivers) is a little easier to catch 'em in during the winter normally.
I'd rather fish for 'em in the cold than roast in the heat of summer trying to catch them in July and August.  Oct. thru May is usually primetime for carp(although a few of those months may not be so prime).  They are starting to fatten up a little bit this time of year for winter and should have their feed bags on.  Heck, I've even been catching a few on da fly recently.

First Phone would post his disclaimer he's known for, then of course there would be his famous "white paper".
I'm sure Phone wouldn't mind finding another forum to spread his fertilizer on, seeing as he got kicked off a couple carp forums recently.  Notice I only mentioned his name twice.

I have also heard that if you have established a feeding spot for them theyll hang around there in the winter.

Sounds like there's some shoot and release bowfishing going on there.
I once caught a carp there that had a gash in it with its guts hanging out and it fought like a champ.  They're **** tough/durable fish----they take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.
