Crazy Mohawk
So started the day off after some trout on a big lake and got blown right off, caught a couple of smallies but we were after big trout so we left and went to the mohawk around ft. plain.
Man, was the hawk on fire. Put the canoe in and fish were crashin the surface. First cast nailed a beauty. My buddies first cast with the fly, another nice one. About every 10 minutes the fish went crazy smackin the surface, we figured they were chasin bait fish. Then we started seeing them spit up alewives when we would catch em. Couldn't catch them blind casting, but as soon as they started wackin the bait ball on the surface it was easy pickens, and literally about every 10 minutes the we'd each catch a fish or two and wait to see where they surfaced next, absolutly awesome stuff.
The picture doesn't do this fish justice, landed about 10-12 in about 2 hours great stuff and a blast with a fly.
