have to disagree with you the way it is written, furtaker license you can carry a gun in rifle season and hunt coyotes..with or without a tag..key word is "or"....read it again..i agree its hard to understand, why isn't a wco reading this and put an end to this bickering..we interpret it one way and they interpret another just to fine you..need a philadelphia lawyer to understand this crap..if the no tag works in archery Musky, why wouldn't it work in rifle, no tag is no tag..no matter what deer season it is..

...that's what he said 270...read it again.

ORIGINAL: MuskyMastr

As the law reads you need to be legally hunting deer during archery/early muzzleloader etc..... to kill a coyote.

If not then you need a furtakers license to hunt them during archery.  So if you run out of tags you better have a furtakers.

And Thanks MMastr.
Have a good weekend guys & good luck tomorrow.

""why isn't a wco reading this and put an end to this bickering..""

I can answer that...  if they read the thread they will see I already posted E-mails from the PGC and they tell it like it is..period... I am right about shooting coyotes while NOT archery hunting for deer from Oct 3rd to Nov14th...

If they agree that what I posted is the law (and it is) you would just say they are not really a WCO or PGC person... just like you are saying I made up the e-mails...

I already posted what a WCO said and what my local one told me was the law...and even what the information officer for the PGC said after checking with the attorney and law enforcement cheifs in Harrisburg.......

and no one is going to take my side and have to put up with your harrassment... only I am dumb enough to do that...many here have no problem contacting me to ignore you but will not post in my defense and you know that.. if they did you would trash them immediately...

I will say this there is one person who replied to this thread that works for the PGC and even he will not post saying I am correct about this....  ???????????

ANSWER THIS ----  If I get their permission and post the names that go with the E-mails will you believe them then ?????

I believe the regulation is poorly written and subject to minor interpretations by local wco's, remember they are no brighter than us. I bet if you put 50 wco's in a room there would be a similar argument....

maybe Musky has something.. poorly written..

For example... the senior rifle season on the 22nd...

I wanted to see who was eligible.. so I went to page.43 and read this...

Only junior and senior license holders.Disabled Person Permit ( to use a vehicle) holders and Pa residents serving on active duty in the U S Armed Forces, including the US Coast Guard.

Well I do not have a senior license so that leaves me out.. right.. NO....

luckily I also read page #9.. there i found this...

DEER, ANTLERLESS, Regular Firearms (Statewide): Oct. 22-24 for Junior and Senior license holders (Also,
persons who have reached or will reach their 65th birthday in year of license application and either hold a valid
adult license, or qualify for license and fee exemptions under section 2706), disabled persons with permit to use a
vehicle as a blind, and Pennsylvania residents serving on active duty in U.S. Armed Services only, with required
antlerless license.

WOW look what is in parenthesis...  That's ME...

better check with the PGC.... one e-mail said YES... one said NO need senior license...  time for phone converstions now.. so I called... still took 5 people in Harrisburg to finally tell me yes I can hunt this season this year with my regular tag.. not a senior one...  my local WCo ???  have not talked to him about it yet.. it may be interesting to see his take....

These are the issues that an email suggestions box at the PGC could solve quickly.....i.e. if you are confused about how it is written in the digest send an email......get an answer after it is researched and then if there are enough questions. Reword that section in next year's digest.....Common sense right?
