flying ants

driving home tonight saw a few flying ants out, so convinced myself I had to fish the old onesquathaw, and it was well worth it, landed 6 fish in about an hour no monsters but a couple brownies around 12". Flying ants were everywhere and the fish were on them. Gotta get to a little bigger stream this weekend.

If there out this weekend it should be some great fly fishing,.

Thinking I might be able to sneak away for a day trip myself.  All things considered, the conditions look real good.

    Nice Man!

The "Little O" must have had a GREAT summer for those little browns...  I don't think they typically make it through the summer in there (at least at my office) but this years rains probably kept them happy and thriving through even the warmest parts of summer.

Last Fall I caught NONE once the weather cooled and my thoughts returned to trout.  But hopefully this Fall will be different!  I hope we can get out after work sometime soon and slay a few in the big cliff pool behind my office!  The only other sections I have fished are on Upper Flat Rock Road, and I only hit that early season the past two years.

Never caught more than four trout in one sitting on the "O", so you must have really been on 'em!  AWESOME!

Dude one thing I learned in the catskills, you see the flying ants and you drop everything and get on the water. No emergers, nyphms, cripples or anything else to consider, just flying ants.

Walked up the stretch of about 100 yards and caught 6 walked back down and nothing, now I gotta get back to the cats, the kinderhook and maybe the schenevus or battenkill this weekend.

forget the big O after work its a little over an hour to the esopus from my place, there releasing water this weekend so some bigger fish may move in and even if they don't that stream has great fall iso's AND TUNA GO SOUTH MAN! if you get a day during the week, I know you got those chinookies on your mind but the cats should be on fire.

South, Nah... Maybe next year. We had over 1,000 kings pass by us on sat and they kicked my guests butt !!! Screamed the reels and WELL into the florescent orange backing. Over 12 fish on and sadly not a 1 came to the net.. so no fish Porn. I have a brookie trip in the ADK's next weekend then back to Ontario until bow season.
Sorry man i know you love the big D but this time of year it pays to fish.
