1st day of goose today.

    Hunted from shooting time till about 8 AM and did not see or hear a goose. The numbers that are usually around the areas I hunt haven't really showed up yet it seems. Have a lake a couple hundred yards from my house in southern Butler County (no hunting there though) that is loaded with geese when they are around. Up until Monday evening, they have been scarce there too. But just watched a flock of about 50 glide in there about 15 minutes ago. Hopefully it will pick up here in the next week or so.

    Doves, on the other hand, seemed to be abundant yesterday evening. Only got one though, cause I set up in the wrong spot. At least I haven't missed a shot yet this season

    Yea i havent seen any geese around where i live.  I mainly hunt in the darlington area there is a few nice swamps around that area.  I didnt even make an attempt to go out.  Ill just wait for duck to come in.  Yea i know a few good dove spots i might have to try out sometime.

    32 on opening day, 5 on Saturday, 12 on Monday.  Good start so far!

    The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

    I saw like 15 today, But I sold my shotgun to buy my kids clothes for school.

    Had 4 flocks close 1st day but we never shot. Went chub/Bass fishing at a beaver pond on Monday & it was loaded with geese

    Tim's buddies hunting group took 15 first day & 54 on Mon.

    I have to fix the hole in my boat from the battery flipping on a sunken rd. culvert drain pipe
