Oak Orchard help

Hey guys I'm looking for a bit of help. I am making my first trip ever up to the oak this year I fish the erie tribs every year for steelhead but don't know too much about the oak. I am looking to target browns mainly maybe a king or two and am just looking for whatever basic info you can give me best times, equipment to use (both spinning and fly), flies/bait, line weight, and lodging. I appreciate anything Thanks a ton!

As for baits, shouldn't be too much different from Erie. Sacks, single eggs, and skein will catch the browns and steel. The kings usually last a little later in those tribs, than say the Salmon River. End of October til Thanksgiving should be great for browns.

Lodging can be had in Albion at Dollinger's Motel. Local tackle shops include Orleans Outdoors and Narby's.

I am heading up around the 27th of Sept. the Kings should be in by then with teh browns following them right? I have only fished the salmon river and it seems that the salmon are in pretty early.

If you want to stay closer to the Oak, try Cedar Valley Bed and Breakfast(I'm sorry, I don't have their # handy). You won't meet nicer people...

I've stayed at Dollingers last year and also Captain's Cove Motel. This year we are going to try out the cottages at 4 C's Marina. Liked  the food choices very near Dollinger's (walking distant) but also liked staying closer to the river at Captain's Cove. Can't complain about either. Eating and fishing are my favorite activity.
