sts string stoppers

ive purchased a new martin, sighted in. an shot and shot an shot.  when i bought it noticed that it had a loud twang to it.  figuring it was because i had no string silencers or limbsavers i went to gander and bought a complete setup of limbsaver products.  that evening i shot it again and notice the sound again tho not as bad as before.  troubled by the fact i just spent another 60 bucks and my problem still ist solved i began to think of other options.  after a little bit of research ive found that a string stopper may be what im looking for.  has anybody ever used one of these?   what are the pros and cons to the product and can they be purchased from a local store

Here is a picture of one on my Bowtech..
The upper one was factory which I didn't like it's position. So I removed it.

The bottom one is an after market Simms product..
Supposedly they will quiet your bow a little and gain you a few feet per sec,.

Go to ebay and type in string suppressor. There is a guy who makes them specifically for your bow. He'll need a measurement. He's made me two and I'm more than pleased with them. Hope this helps.

I believe they are in the neighborhood of $35.00. He had made me one and it wasn't quite right. I figured I was just out of luck. I had emailed him back to let him know this and within a few days another one showed up in my mailbox... no charge. This is my first experience with a string suppressor and I'm real glad I made the leap. It definitely made it more quiet and increased the speed somewhat. As a plus it helps to keep the string from slapping your forearm, not always but does help.
He calls the thing a ZSS. His name is Don (master6711079@sbcglobal.net)
Looking at my bill from ebay, it was $29.97 plus shipping. Total... $35.47
