can anyone tell me when the white fly will start on yellow breeches?  I think it is around the middle of august but not sure.

Yeah- first or Second week of Aug.. Also a Brown Drake hatch then, but in my experiance the white flies taste better to the fish.

It's a fun time, but try to find an uncrowded stretch. Makes it allot better than people every 5 feet...
Fish a white wulff or an all white fly with a hint of orange in the thorax. I fish a 14 or 16. Hope this helps

that helps alot.  As far as crowds I was thinking of above RT 34. I would think the father away from special regs area the better.  are there any other streams around that have them besides the rivers.

Also check out the Susq triver. their white fly hatches are in full swing and the smallmouth were slayin' em up until all this rain and high water. Not to mention lots of room and no crowds out there....and it's not hard to imagine how much better a 16" smallie feels on a four weight compared to a ten inch trout. Some large channel cats hitting the flies as well. Now that's a blast!

I said 14 or 16, but now I remember those things are big. 10 or 12 white Wulff.

They started coming on very heavy this past thursday. It's been pretty steading since then. Our office building is right on the river and all the conference room windows are covered.
