new bows

I've been shooting bows lately to find the one I want to buy. I've wanted to replace my bowtech the last 2 years, but for one reason or another talked myself into keeping it. So, this year I sold the bowtech to a friend figuring i'd have no choice but to buy a new one.

Here's what i've narrowed it down to:

PSE bow maddness
G5 Quest qs31

Anyone have experience with either?

Both are sweet shooters, and shoot just as well as the $700+ bows i've shot. It seems the days of one or two companies ruling the bow market are over. I shot bows from nearly every company and I arrived at these two bows because of value. They shot great, felt good in hand and are priced a few hundred less than several bows that I didnt like any more/less.

i hbought a reflex growler last year. not as high end as some, but i love it. it is really smothe, which makes you shoot more accurate. not quiteas fast as your new hoyts and mathews but its not far behind. i have talked to people that have them, and love them. and i have talked to people that bought more exspensive bows that wish they would of bought 1.

The G5 quest is essentially a next generation Ross Cardiac. They (the Cardiacs) are sweet shooters.

Never a fan of PSE...G5's seem to be okay..I shot one at the expo in harrisburg...I was impressed...Real smooth...Nothing compares to the new hoyt alphamax though...Man was that nice...I have a Hoyt Trykon that is about 4 yrs old and I love it...I just can't justify spending 800 on a bow that has nothing on it...Like stated above..The Reflex's are half the price as hoyt and made by Hoyt...My buddy has one, and he loves it...

No other place is inflation so evident as it is in archery equipment.  When I got into the sport, a "high end" bow would run you 400.  Now, the low to mid range bows cost more than that and the "high end" bows cost more than a good rifle setup.  On top of that, unlike a firearm, the **** things lose their value faster than a car.  This years latest, greatest bow for 800 will be worth 250 next year.

    Ridiculous.

Have heard some good things about the bow madness. But not a PSE fan. Bought the alphamax from hoyt. 729 was the price. A great bow. Very smooth draw. Havent really heard anything about the bow from G5.

It is absurd to me that a new bow cost more than a new rifle.

It kinda breaks my heart the only time a bow goes "BOOM" is when you break it, lol.

My brother just bought a Hoyt Katera last weekend...It is nice and smooth and really fast. He was gonna go with the Alpha Max Bone Collector series, but he liked the Katera better.

I like Martin bows. When I decided to move on from my beginners set-up, I spent alot of time trying out different bow models from a bunch of different makers, and ended up getting a martin couger 3 SE single cam, have it now for going on 6 years now, killed a ton of deer with it and it still shoots as sharp as the day I bought it.

I am a mathews fan my self shoot the new mathews rezzen what a nice shooter it was shoot my 386 grain arrow at 324 FPS and as smooth as a babys bottom right now i shoot a switchback the bow is only 3 years old and the dealer would only give me $250 for it and would not drop on the price of a new bow so no new bow for me

I've got a Bowtech 101st airborne that I'll sell you...
I'm going back to my Mathews...
I've shot solo cam for 15 years and thought I would try a twin cam and don't really care for the draw cycle...

I bought the PSE bow madness a week ago. It's a smooth shooter. Robin hooded a shaft on friday, and broke another nock today. The bow barely makes a sound.

I'm in the same boat, I have a Martin Panther that I bought new almost 10 years ago. It was when "solo cams" were relatively new I know that much..

Still use it, still shoots great. My dad has an even older Martin (not sure the model) which he uses to this day.

martin couger II 45-60pd here with many kills .... Its short, good treestand bow, half the price of the newbies and shoots just as good... everyone is all worried bout speed these days... speed dont mean a thing if you cant hit what your aiming at..
the new ones are nice no doubt, but the martin will get the job done just as good
