    I would definetly go IR.
I have never tried the Moultrie IR.
These pics came from a cheap Moultrie that doesn't have IR.
It seems to work good though.

Do not buy a Remington Ghost...Very poor camera...

I am in the process of building a homebrew with a Sony P32 for a camera..Not IR though.

The only good IR I have is a Scoutguard, very small, decent pics, around $200...If I had the money I would own a few of these....

I do not own a camera but my hunting buddy does. We used his moultrie gamespy 4.0 with IR flash. Took very good pictures. Didnt get many night time pics though. So not real sure of the quality of the night time pics. As far as battery life, this thing was excellent. We put the camera up in late august and took it down the week after gun season and I believe there was around 65%-70% battery life left. On sale at cabelas for 199.99 From what I saw I would recommend this camera to anyone.

    Bings,

You can convert your moultrie into an IR camera if it is the 6V model...There is instructions on the web to do it...Open up the camera, pop the lens out, put IR material over lens and done...IR Camera...We have 2 that we just did...

    If you have the Moultrie

Finally got a shooter on cam. I think he must have just wanted some salt.

Thought this was a cool over-the-shoulder shot on this doe too.

Found me a shooter doe.     Gotta give the does some luvin' fellas.

Had to lighten the pic to see what they were.  Maybe a shooter on the right.  Can't tell what the other one is.

I've been getting a ton of pics.   Finally saw a dandy Saturday morning and the biggest I've seen in PA on hoof in the wild.

    Wow....Those are two big boys.....

I don't know what would have done that to that fawn...Doesn't look like a yote bite....Maybe is went and sniffed on a coon or sumthin....Maybe a cat, but bite looks small...

Funny thing about scouting camera's though...I always seem to see the small bucks and the does in archery that I have been getting on film. Hardly ever see the shooters that I have seen on film. End up killing a buck that I have never seen around????

Fuzz, My cousin has one, He likes it because you don't have to worry about trigger speed and such rather you can can catch every deer that comes through if they are traveling in a herd or something...

Great shots guys... I've been wanting to get a trail cam for a long time. Have yet to buck up and do it though.

Know what you mean Big Slick.. what might be part of the reason that you see entirely different deer is the extension of their territory during mating season. I think I read that the larger bucks have larger zones and you'll start to see some unfamiliar big deer.

I had a massive (by our camps standards) buck come to my stand last season in archery, chase down a doe, bang her, and then stand at the top of the hill I was on for a good 15 minutes. He never came within range. Was a wild site non the less... some days I think I should go out there with a video camera instead of a bow and arrow!

Here's one I got in an e-mail entitled "Canandian Hunt" no idea on the story behind it:

Another decent buck showed up this week.
Wish he would have held still better..
This is one shot that would have been much better on the video setting. They're usually not blurry like a still photo..

    Look at his tail.

Is that what is the next measure of a great buck?

First it was "I got a buck."

Then it was "I got an "X" point buck."

From there it became "I got a buck with an "X" inch spread."

Moved to "I got a buck that scored "X."

Now, "I got a buck with an "X" inch tail."

    LOL.

I hope it stops before they start measuring what makes a buck a buck -- I'm not willing to go there.

that deer does have an unusually long tail, though.

went spotting tonight saw 6 bucks total. 4 of which were together only 1 for sure legal maybe 2. the other 2 looked like 4s or spikes all small deer. thought this group was 2 does and 2 fawns from last yr at first.  the other 2 were also together and both nice legal bucks one a wall hanger for sure.

went out and checked my camera today had quite a few pics and videos. really like the video mode it comes in clearer than the picture i think.  was nice to when something ran by and set it off then you could catch the fawns running by where in picture mode it would of been a blank pic.  did get some pictures of a couple small bucks.  all the bucks were between midnight and 2 am.  had pics of the does through out the whole day.
