Geneva 7\5-8

Anyone headed out of Geneva or Conny this weekend for eyes?  I am launching out of Geneva on Sunday around noon, staying until Wednesday.  Hoping to share some reports.  If anyone has any reports for this week I would appreciate any information you are willing to share.

I can smell em......

KN32, thanks.  I have been getting close to the same reports.  Any other info is helpful.  Dipseys, inlines, riggers, colors, depth of water..etc...  One reliable source has them in 60-70 FOW, suspended around 40.  Heading out tomorrow AM.

58-58 line dipseys with meat. And jet 40s off the big boards. Spoon bite has picked up as well.

    Here's how the trip went:

Got up to the camp around Noon on Sunday the 5th.  After setting up for camp we (Me and Dream Catcher) got out on the water around 3PM.  Started fishing in 70 FOW as we were marking ALOT of fish in 60-70 depth.  We went with four dipsey rods to start, targeting 50 FOW.  Went to riggers periodically.  We only caught one 26" eye off of a harness.  We ignored all reports stating the fish were in 40 FOW since we saw so many marks deep.

Monday we (Me, DC and Dean) were out on the water by 5:30 AM.  Decided to listen to the reports and target fish in the 40 FOW.  We didn't mark many fish in 40 FOW, so they must be getting spooked under the boat.  We only fished until about 1PM before getting blown off the lake.  It wasn't fast and furious but we did end up catching 5 eyes, all between 26-28".  All caught on harnesses off of dipseys.  Boy\girl caught 5 of the 6 fish.

Tuesday got blown out and as we were debating on whether or not to try the evening bite, I got sick with the flu.  Tore down camp and went home.  Finally started feeling better just yesterday!

Only think I would have tried differently was to get the lines away from the boat.  Inline boards\big boards were working better for other fisherman I talked to.  Inline weights\jets under the boards.

Although only a couple 1\2 days of fishing, it was still fun, even the sunset was smiling down upon us!  It was good to get the equipment wet and ready to go.  DC took his shirt off again, I got pics to show everyone that wants to see his hairless chest.

That's why we took the picture (smiley face) .  It's was available for 10 seconds, then dissapeared.  That sun goes down fast!!

Thanks for having me aboard Randy ; I had a great time with Dean & you. Was weird not marking fish at 40FOW maybe they are/were actually holding higher in the column and spooking down into the cone of disturbance after the boat had passed ? It was a good lesson learned to think outside the box LMAO . One day I will invent a fish finder transducer to run underneath the boards ; I know you walleye hounds will buy two a piece .... right?
