this pic does not give the actual size justice, but I've never seen one this big... thoughts, input?

    Looks like a Stone(d)fly to me it's good to see that the valve is working now and keeping that water cold, this is an excellent sign my friend.  I have seen em down there around 3-4 inches but haven't seen one in a few years, always golden....  Anyways good find!  Never know what consistently cold water will bring

    when i was looking under crayfish last summer i found a similar bug that was about 2-3 inches and black..i have a book on lake erie's water species ill look it up and get back to you

    can't wait til the steelies run again! get to say the best two words put together in fishing "fish on!"

    what I thought

    this one was about an inch and a half or so.  The water is also very cold... loving it

    the black bug you found was probably a hellgrammite if my assumption is correct
