as long as no one runs you off their property, I would be camping anywhere.  Just make sure you dont leave any trash or stuff like that around.  Most people are pretty nice about folks that float and camp.

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."

    CamelJ,
Most of the land along the J is private and some of it is very private, meaning they will run you off or arrest you.  But there are some campgrounds with riverfront access so you may want to check out those and map them out ahead of time.  Or you could just pull up and ask.  But I would always get permission.

almost all of the ground between the river and railroad tracks is posted and patrolled by norfolk southren railroad.  However there are a couple of nice islands to camp on at least time I was there. Below thompsintown is one the other one is bellow millerstown. sounds like a good trip.

Camel, sounds like a nice trip.  I have always wanted to float this.  Can you let me know what challenges you had and details when it's all over?

If I would have asked what everyone wanted, they would have responded that they wanted a better horse....Henry Ford

The Journal sounds like a great idea. I use to keep one fishing. It's great to read over and remember the little details I had forgotten about.

    Maybe I should start again...

In my younger days with the boy scouts we floated from lewiston to newport. took 5 days but  alot of fun. In my humble opion the best water to fish is from thompsintown to amityhall.

I am originally from Lewistown- well just to the west in Sandaminia the locals call it. Just up over the hill from the river. I was only two when Agnes came, but I still remember being able to swim in our basement!
