Admittedly...I don't weigh many fish. I lifted that fish out of the water, it was freekin heavy. Fat & thick....the shoulders on it were incredible! I think all the guesstimates are light, but I'm sure yinz weigh more fish than me.

Either way...that dude had a 100LB smile, and a lifetime memory.

No matter what the weight is the smile on your face sums up the fun experience. If you want my honest guestimate I would seriously say its a low 30. It has a good length to it and you can't see it head on to see a true girth of it.All and all having fun is what its all about.

See what you started Slick? Well over 45 inches and 40 pounds EASY!!! I'm tellin ya, you guys made me second guess myself, so I went back to the weight room and loaded 40 lbs. on the bar, and that carp was easily that heavy. Just to clarify for you nay-sayers.............

While I respect everyone's opinion (yinz are more educated than myself on this subject), I gotta agree with ya Bloody, 40lbs+......The girth on that fish was ridiculous! Like myself and another poster stated already, It doesn't really matter if it was 15 or 50. It's a fish you will always remember.....who cares how much it weighed. I've caught 1000's of fish, and only weighed a handful. I don't fish for the numbers, I fish for the fun!...and a hog like that is TONS OF FUN!

Man Slick, I hope I run into you guys at Jurassic Park again some day - even if to pull in something half that size. I'll be sure to scrub myself with brillo pads the morning before to get rid of whatever bad juju I had going on last week.

What a monster though. Nice picture!

35-40 lb range     That's an awesome fish.  There are some true giant carp in the bay, I've missed a few with the bow that looked like whales, 60lbers.   Cant imagine what that thing felt like to land on a rod.  Congrats.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.
