    My go-to steelhead flies
    1. sucker or glo spawn (especially in egg colored with a light roe blood dot)
    2. egg sucking leech (black with red egg)
    3. steak n eggs
    4. wooly buggers (white, black, olive)
    5. beadhead psycho prince nymph (in various colors)

If I can't catch steelhead on these patterns then I might as well go home because it's not my day.

the one fly i use for carp and steel is an unweighted bugger.
I fish the carp feeding lanes in the frog water and let it sit till a carp cruises by. Then I give it a little swim and stop. Mr carp hopefully comes up and eats it. Almost the same for steel in low water. I swim it or drift it by them and give it a slight twitch when it gets in front of the fish.

    Carp/sthd flies

Never fish for carp, can't reccomend any flies.

Favorite flies for sthd - PA streams:
Swinging - buggers, unweighted or 1/8" bead head, black, white, olive, fluorescent in several combinations of colors - favorite is white tail, red body, 2 yellow rabbit hair collars instead of the traditional palmered hackle. Four strands pearl krystal flash in tail for all colors.  Size 6 for high water, 8 or 10 for lower water conditions.

Indicator fishing - any of the egg patterns, nymphs previously mentioned in this subject are good.  Personal preference is egg patterns over nymphs, although both are very good.

Interesting to see the responses.  I have always gone with 3-4 flys or lures for a specific fish.  If I couldn't catch em with them it was time to mgo home.  I am a believer it's more about presentation.  I usually fish with:
    single egg
    sucker spawn
    crystal meth
    prince nymph

KJH, how do you fish that dark clouser? I've fished black and dark brown marabou streamers to carp and only ever scared the bajeezus out of them when they saw it move.

    sight casting for active feeders
12in radius in font on them
let it sit and work little twitches
clousers sit hook up with focused weight up front... creates little silt/mud poofs

looks like feeing or burrowing invertibrs.
