Trolling dilema

My pontoon runs a little too fast for good lure action when trolling. This is with the speed all the way down and just into forward.  It is a bigfoot 4 stroke 10 hp.
I am trying to find a solution other than a trolling motor.
I was wondering if running planar boards would get me a little slower and better action.  The wind sock seems hard to do with a pontoon.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as someone else may have solved this problem.
HELP!

Use a drift sock or a 5 gallon bucket to slow you down. They also make a trolling plate for a motor that is intended to slow you down, but i'm not sure if they will fit a 10 hp motor.

Use a prop with a lower pitch.
If your boat goes 5 mph at 700 rpm it will go 4 mph with a 8 pich or 3 mph with a 6 pitch of the same type and width.

DO NOT ALLOW THE ENGINE TO OVER-REV WITH A LOW PITCH PROP

Run a sock out both sides in the rear works great on my pontoon with a Honda 10 HP 4 stroke

Watch changing your prop unless you have a tachometer, You could over rev the engine and destroy it.
