Green Drake Hatch

I'm looking to head to Titusville in the next few days, have the Green Drakes started coming off yet?  I know they usually start mid-late May for about a week.

Any other reports from Oil or Pine?

Thanks!

geesh, might as well plan another outing... I'll be in titusville area this weekend as well for an annual family trip

"Sure, we can assiduously three-quarter our wets downstream, mend and wait out each fly swing, over and over again, which to my way of thinking, anyway, relegates the angler to the role, not of nemesis as it should be, but of butler."

Green Drakes won't be around for awhile.
Usually near the last week of May.
I never seen em on Oil Creek but they might be there above Titusville.
Green and tan caddis are hatching, but expect a bunch of different caddis sizes and  colors for the weekend.
Oil Creek Outfitters on Rt 8 betweeen Titusvill and Oil Cty (near the DQ) is celebrating its 20th year on Saturday. You should stop by. You can get all the local info you need and pick up a few of the hot flies.
Then to the DQ for icecream.

That is a great idea.  I've been fishing Caldwell for 20+ years and never stopped at Oil Creek Outfitters.  I always drove by and said to myself "wonder what that place is like".  I will make it a point to stop, certainly for the experience and advice but also for the flies.  Thanks for the reminder.

I figured it would be a little early for the Green Drake but caddis are popular this time of year and I do need to restock on them.

ah yeah, oil creek outfitter is a great little fly shop. took a trip down to caldwell just last month and stopped into OCO and he has a great selection of flies; he hooked me up with what was good and i ended up doing very well.
