Very nice bird . Mine flew down and joined some hens and that was that. Checking for sign as I was walking out and looked up to see a bird run right past me. It was a hen with a 4 inch beard.

tried to work the same birds i worked last week with my nephew. this time they gobble at daylight really close, then here comes momma. she checked out the decoys for 10 min. then i looked over and the gobblers was i the tree rite where they were watching every thing. the hen made some soft calls and the gobblers flew down the other direction, then she ran to them. so went shroom hunting. had better luck. hit the mother load. very steep hillside with spring coming. 45 shrooms. i havent found that many total in 4 years.

We had birds gobbling there heads for an hour after they flew down. Not sure if it was hens, coys or if they saw us.We watched them walk at 250 yards hit the aluminum call they gobble.Me an my daughter cicrcle them cluck with the box call 2 gobble.Had to hurry to setup they where very close. We got tucked in a bush made some call they gobble. Then her came a hen yelping she was 2 yards from us.Not really sure what happened to the gobblers couldn't see that good. Then we setup on one at 11 gobbling pretty good tryed to call him across a open field but the coys they where in the car.I still been seeing alot of hens later in the day.Maybe the warm weather keep them off the nests today.

3 longbeards flew down directly to hens by the lake, rather than on the log road they had been using. Had to get out @ 8 for track meet, that's why the season is a month long....lol

Killed a nice bird at 8 am yesterday. 9 3/4" beard, 3/4" spurs and 21 lbs. on the nose. Should be able to smack another one tomorrow, then what to do is up in the air...
