Bulk Hooks

Where can I get bulk hooks, in packs of around 100?  I think the same question has been asked before, on the old board but I can't find the thread.  What brand of hooks are good quality?  I have only been using tiemco and I like them.  I have also tried Mustad but both packs I bought had 2-3 hooks with problems (ex. no eyes).  Thanks

Thanks but it's only 25 hooks, I have no use for that style, and I'm not a member on E-bay.

dia-riki's come in packs of 50, I think mustad is the only one with 100packs, come to think of it, fly fishers carries tiemcos in 100 packs I think they are $16.

Lake Erie Ultimate Angler sells bulk hooks in various styles.  They have tiemco & also some mustad hooks.  I've used both, but like yourself I really like the tiemco hooks.

You can also check out Mad River Outfitters - http://www.madriveroutfitters.com/c-292-fly-tying-hooks.aspx
They don't necessarily have 100 packs, but will give u the bulk price if you buy (4) 25 count packs.  I have gotten things from them in the past & they have fantastic customer service.

Like Silverkype had said also, check out ebay.  It's very easy to join & you can find some great deals.

Thanks,  I think I'll make a run to Lake Erie Ultimate Angler.  The Tiemco's have worked out nicely and I'd be happy to buy them in bulk.  Thanks

FFP has them by the 100's

    Tiemco 100 = $14.95 per 100
    Mustad 94840 = $9.50 per 100

I never had any problem with Mustad.   DAI-ICHI are the ones that give me problems.

For steelhead with the number of flies lost do to the shale bottom Mustad 3399's are the hooks I  use. They are @ >$9 per 100. http://www.fishusa.com/default.asp?i=F9E44EDBD6704E6B910B7E463C015C28 if they don't have what you want they can get it for you.
For trout I usually use Daiichi but at 14-16 a 100. Oil Creek outfitters have a excellent assortment of Daiichi and Tiemco hooks 25 and 100's.   http://www.oilcreekoutfitters.com/shop.html

FFP has a discount if you purchase 1000 hooks at a time I think it is 10% http://www.flyfishersparadise.com/Hope this helps.Chris

He has 100%  positive feedback and he is VERY easy going. Not like the goofballs from NC , or SC on Ebay.

Cabelas sells both Mustad and Eagle Claw Hooks in 100 packs.  That USED to be the standard pack size until hooks started getting so expensive.  When I started tying, hooks were less than $3.00 per hundred.  Many styles of Eagle Claw Hooks are only 7.50 from Cabelas.  I use a lot of the silver steelhead hooks, and their egg hooks.  At 4.50 up for a box of 25 that works out to 18.00 per hundred now for the "name" brand hook.  I find I can do just fine with Eagle Claw and Mustads.  When I worked in a tackle store, I was able to really stock up on Tiemco hooks wholesale in boxes of 100.  Now I look for sales and close in my local tackle store.  Yes they do put hooks in the bargain bin from time to time.

Check out Bolsars in PA, they have a website, and sell Daiichi hooks for around 10 bucks for 100. Thats a bargain, compared to shops. Daiichi's are extremely sharp, and chemicaly sharpened.
