FYI-- the Little Juniata River Association is holding their annual cleanup on saturday morning. We are meeting at the church in Spruce Creek around 9am. There is supposed to be somewhere around 120 people helping in this effort, if you enjoy fishing the LJ this would be the time to kick something back. You may get some odd looks if you plan to fish the a.m. while that many people are working hard to clean the river.

I would also keep a close eye on the usgs site, forecast is calling for another half inch of rain tomorrow. If we actually recieve what they are calling for you can expect the river to be rocking and rolling pretty good. The gauge is currently at 330cfs, the river becomes very difficult to fish much above 400cfs IMO.

Hatchwise, you may see some BWOs and possibly some midges. I am sure thedrake will chime in as he has fished it more recently than I have. By the way, BWO's in 18 and 20 should cover you pretty well.

If the river is in decent shape saturday, which will depend on the forecasted rain, I may fish after the cleanup.

E-H, thanks for the comeback. what time do you guys quit cleaning up?
if my friend still wants to go down, depending on the weather, i'm sure we'll join in for the clean up. we plan on spending the nite somewhere and fishing sunday also.
i'm pretty sure i know where the spruce creek church is.

The J isn't going to fish tomorrow DT.

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

DT- It will probably be finished around noon or so. If you help out, the church is planning a lunch after the cleanup.

The weather forecost does not look promising, here in State College we are under a wind advisory until 4pm saturday. They are calling for 40-50mph and 20-30mph sustained winds. That is not exactly what I would consider ideal hatch conditions. The gauge is now up to 480cfs and rising, even though we did not get a ton of rain.

Black Mo...hold water extreamly well.....it may run high but I dont think I have ever seen it muddy....thats always my go to stream when there has been alot of rain during the week....

May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it.

Yeah..... the little J wont fish this weekend. As I am looking at the gauge right now, its nearly 4ft. Spruce may be fishable...Spring Creek definitley.... Big Fishing creek probably.

    Hope that helps.

    I hear ya,DT.
Been sitting at home and reading about all the great March steelheading, BWOs hatching, casting to fish dimpling on midges and skating stoneflies.
So, I couldn't resist and thought I could cheat the back surgery gods and headed out last week only to turn around after 1/2 hour when my back revolted after hitting a major pothole, LOL. I'm going to give it another 2 weeks .
    Good luck to ya.

I was down on the river this morning for the clean-up. The river is a raging chocolate torrent at the moment. I would doubt it will be fishable until at least next weekend, providing we don't get any more rain over that period.
