The Meiser MKS 12'6" 5/6 looks like a real nice rod for big Erie water, bet you'll be happy with it.

Entertaining the idea of getting a Sage Z-AXIS 12'6" for the Catt., not sure about wt, either a 5 or a 6wt. do you have any experience with this rod? If so, what wt would you recomend?

If you get another two handed rod Donna will throw you out. You can live with me cheap, I'll put a cot in the garage.
You're just jealous of my Scott Arc . Keep tying my flies and I'll let you use it once in a while.

Glen,
I saw Bob's message. I think if he wants another new rod, I will have a fishing garage sale. 2nd thought, I will have a sale & keep the $$. I bet I could get a nice 1 ct. diamond from selling all his junk.
Can he really move in with you? Sounds good to me!

Glen,

Notice she said "new", I can watch for a used sage 6126, get it, and not have to worry about getting thrown out of the house.  There are ways to "launder" fishing gear purchases.  I am an expert at it.

The loaner 6/7 MKS came in the mail yesterday. Got out with it and my God does it cast fine! Had a few tugs some quick releases and some fish to hand. One smallie and one drop back. But it wasnt about catching today it was about casting. Once I learned the loading point and got my timing down, it was lights out. I will have this rod for next season. I dont know if I am going to build it or have Bob Meiser do it. If you are looking for a swtch or two hander, you should look in this guys direction.

Sounds like you got a great rod to look forward to.  I'll probably wait a year before getting a 12 1/2' 2 hander.  If and when I do, will certainly consider the Meiser MKS 5/6 but a factory rather than a custom build.

I have a Beulah 11 1/2' 6/7 now.  Used it a lot last fall and like the rod.  River I use it on requires an average cast of about 40-50'. I'm comfortable with this rod out to about 60'. which is plenty for this river.

Enjoy your new Meiser!

I went with the Redington Crosswater. It's a cheapy, around 120$. But I had trouble finding what I needed/wanted for a good price.

I've yet to go out with it, I'll for sure be swinging some BWB's like my man said before. Like I said, it's 7'6 so hopefully I'll be able to whip it into some tight corners.

My buddy got the 9' 5 wt. Seems to be a workhorse, with a surprisingly light-in-the-hand feel compared to others in its price range.

Yeah I'm looking forward to getting out there and swinging some Woolybuggahz. You been out lately, or you still hate trout?

Dano,

I really like the Mirrored Minnow.  It was the fly that worked for me on the Catt. a few years ago.  I have only tried it out on Ohio streams a few times.  Didn't have any hits, but I believe I'll give it another try this fall.

Am currently suffering from lack of sleep..

Let's share some fly pics.

BIG flies = BIG fish..

Have been swinging flies as of late w/my switch rod.

Swing, Snap T -- All over again.

What I've been throwing.

Much of the same w/the conehead.. The extra weight & flash is awesome!

KJ, nice I am digging it bro. That will get grabbed up for sure.

Norm, Your pic isnt that great I would love to see them flies in better pics. From what I can make out the look nice!

I havent spent any time at the tying table this entire summer. But I just started back at it the other day and busted these out. From here on out I will be trying to get at least one done a day. But it is going to be tough because I got 7 rods to build for customers not counting the Mieser 2 hander I will be doing for myself. You can see that I am out of practice on my flies because some of the heads got out of control. The fish dont mind all that much, but it is a peeve of mine. All the flies are on AJ 2051 in sizes 1.5 and 3. Enjoy.

Here is a close up of one. Good looking head on this one.

Hey guys, I've been browsing this thread and decided to give this style of fly a try. I won't be doing any spey style fishing, so this will just be used as a streamer with a regular fly rod. Let me know what you think, and dont be afraid to make suggestions!

****, good looking flies guys. I'm getting the itch bad.

I've gotta go to Cabelas or somewhere to get some new ones for this season, My box has kinda transformed from a Steelhead box to a Trout, to a full blown bluegill/LM box.

Very Colorful.
